Invenio Imaging, based in Santa Clara, CA has developed and manufactures the NIO Laser Imaging System. The NIO is designed to streamline intraoperative histology, reducing downtime in the operating room, and allowing examination of specimens from multiple sites in the surgical cavity. This is accomplished by combing our proprietary laser imaging technology with state-of-the-art machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques. The NIO has been used in over 3000 cases and is currently installed in sites across the United States and Europe. We are hiring a Chief Technology Officer to head the engineering, quality, clinical, and manufacturing teams. The CTO will lead the development, manufacturing, and support of medical devices incorporating Stimulated Raman Histology (SRH) and machine learning. The CTO will work closely with the company leadership to develop the company planning and participate in fundraising.
Specific duties include:
• Developing the technology roadmap for the company
• Lead the R&D team to develop novel medical devices
• Head the clinical team to execute clinical studies
• Head the quality and regulatory teams in regulatory submission
• Support the manufacturing and clinical team with technical issues
• Serve as the technology liaison with existing customers
• Collaborate with the company leadership on business planning and fundraising
Minimum Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline
• 10+ years of experience designing and maintaining complex optical, fiber laser, electronic (PCB), mechanical, and software systems
• 10+ years of experience leading R&D teams, including developing product specifications and research and development plans
• 10+ years of experience in laser spectroscopy, microscopy, and artificial intelligence. Specifically, the candidate must have direct experience in Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Scattering (CARS) or Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) microscopy and machine learning as demonstrated by authorship of publications in the fields
• 5+ years of industry experience with medical devices and medical device software
• 5+ years of experience executing development projects under a medical device quality system. Intimate knowledge of ISO-13485, ISO-14971, ISO-62304, EU IVDD, and EU IVDR and US FDA regulations
• 5+ year of experience in working with medical doctors in designing clinical studies and trials
• Previous experience as a principal investigator on government grants (incl. NSF and NIH)
• Previous experience in fundraising and management presentation
Offered salary is: $300,000 per year
