Limited Term Faculty Position (Assistant Professor)

The successful candidate should have a growing profile of research in image-guided 
interventions and will be expected to lead and grow an independent, innovative, interdisciplinary, applications-oriented, research program that can attract excellent trainees, high levels of external research funding, and foster collaborative partnerships across the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, University, and City-wide Hospitals and Research Institutes. The successful candidate will also have practical experience in one or more areas related to image-guided intervention, including interventional imaging, optical imaging, surgical metrology, tracking technologies, computer vision, medical image processing and analysis including artificial 
intellegence, surgical simulation, virtual and augmented reality, mechatronics, robotics, and systems integration. Preference will be given to candidates with a growing track record of supervising students in projects related to the above domains, collaboration with clinicians, and developing and managing projects from concept to clinical application and commercialization.

Applicants must possess a PhD degree in Biophysics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline, from an accredited institution, and exhibit a strong record of peer-reviewed publications, with a high degree of potential for garnering independent research support and participating in translational research teams. The applicant, who will have fluent written and oral communication skills in English, must have demonstrated a potential for developing innovative approaches within a collaborative research environment and a minimum of three years of relevant postdoctoral research experience. While this is a research-intensive position, the 
successful applicant should demonstrate enthusiasm for excellence in education as contributions to graduate and undergraduate education. Compensation for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
