Technical Sales Engineer – IQE – Spokane, WA

Purpose of the role

Member of the IQE Photonics Business Unit (Infrared sensing market) responsible for IQE-Galaxy substrate (InSb, GaSb, CZT) product sales and business development

Key Responsibilities

· Responsible for managing a core of existing accounts as well as creating new business relationships

· Work closely with Galaxy site technical and operations teams to ensure that the requirements of customers are reflected accurately in technical quotations and commercial offers

· Responsible for the creation of sales parts and product quotations

· Maintain and develop positive customer communications and relationships

· Provide technical support to Galaxy Customer Service and Quality Departments, this including authoring technical responses and feedback against customer issues/inquiries when required

· Represent Galaxy Compound Semiconductors, Inc. at US conference and trade show events

· Travel to customer sites for commercial and technical meetings across the US, with occasional international travel required

· Be able to travel to other business site locations, in addition to Galaxy and Wafer Technology, for business unit commercial and/or technical meetings

· Promote Galaxy products and company capabilities, developing new sales and marketing literature for the product line as needed

· Create annual revenue forecasts; track and analyze deviations from Budget forecast

Qualifications / Essential Skills

· Proven track record in a technical sales and/or business development role

· Working knowledge of compound semiconductor materials (especially substrates, but knowledge of epitaxy is also desirable) and their applications

· Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering discipline (materials science, chemistry, or physics)

· Postgraduate degree in applied area compound semiconductor materials technology would be desirable

· 3-5 years of commercial experience in a customer facing technical role

Salary: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
