The Junior Applications Scientist position is a full-time, permanent post within the framework of the “CIR Jeune Docteur”, requires authorization to work in France and availability to travel extensively domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate possesses a PhD in Physics or related field and is experienced with optical alignment and microscopy.
The post is statut Cadre, offering a salary range of 40,000 – 50,000 EUR and benefits including health, death and disability insurance, corporate mobile and gym membership reimbursement. The envisaged start date is January of 2022.
Qualifications
PhD in Physics or closely related field
Experienced with optical alignment and optical microscopy
Position within the framework of the “CIR Jeune Docteur”
Fluency in English

Responsibilities
Research and Development
Help advance 3i product development by testing and documenting existing products for their stability and function and defining refinements to improve their performance. Support new technologies including providing field support, assembly, and installation prior to these technologies being incorporated into 3i’s regular processes. Help provide system maintenance, perform testing, and train users at 3i’s shared facility at the Vision Institute (Paris, 12e).
Installation and Training
Perform system installations and customer training.
Marketing & Teaching
Attend trade shows such as German Neuroscience and Focus on Microscopy; teach students at microscopy courses where 3i participates, such as the European Light Microscopy Initiative and the European Molecular Biology Organization.
Customer Support
Assist with customer support to keep instruments functional in the field. Provide pre- and post-sale applications support. Manage customer accounts; regularly communicate with customers to ensure client satisfaction.
Sales
Assist in European sales efforts.
