This role is based in Saratoga, CA, and will require you to be in the office.

The client has multiple openings for experienced hardware engineers to help us build their wearable device. You will be part of a larger team designing and building complex systems using a combination of custom ASICs, FPGA, and other off-the-shelf components. You will be working with systems relevant to real-time video/graphics, signal processing, sensor fusion and wireless data communication.

  • You will be responsible for all aspects of our wearable device hardware, from system design, parts selection, schematic & PCB design, mechanical design, manufacturing and deployment

  • Assure quality design through best design practices, followed up by testing, that products meet signal integrity, thermal, EMC, Safety, and DFM requirements.

  • Develop ways to automate testing and characterization of hardware interfaces

  • Setup environment to enable fast regression of changes in hardware and software and work to duplicated reported bugs

B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ as a hardware engineer

Deep experience with the system development process including concept creation, schematics and board development, as well as board and system bring up and debugging

Experience with the manufacturing process and design rules for PCB, SIP, Flex etc. development

Design experience with embedded system technologies including FPGAs, MCUs and SoCs

Experience with signal integrity simulation and debug, dealing with sensitive analog and RF signals

You are an excellent communicator, scrappy when needed, organized at all times, takes pride in beautiful work products

  • Comfortable with lab equipment: scope, power supply, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, rework tools.

  • Debug experience with common interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, USB.

  • Setup Linux environment for testing and running stress and benchmarks on DUTs

  • Working experience with any of these is a plus:

  • Experience in using Altium/Cadence tool suite

  • Experience with wireless system design and sensitive RF circuits

  • Experience with motion sensing, navigation & location tracking systems

  • Experience with 3D graphics, embedded vision systems, video and image processing pipelines

  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Box, Slack, and Arena
