Poly is seeking an experienced senior camera engineer to help drive camera and imaging development of Poly’s collaboration products.
As a key member of the video collaboration BU engineering organization, you will work with a team of engineers overseeing all aspects of the imaging and video processing, including selection of optical components and ISP SoCs, ISP tuning, algorithm development, and post-processing.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to collaborate in cross-functional development programs, balancing internal and external requirements with cost, schedule and resources, while delivering the highest quality experience to the end customers.
Your day to day
Working closely with our IQ test lab, review, analyze and compile data to evaluate camera module prototypes and camera products. Provide reports and feedback to internal and external teams.
Assess information from vendors and contract manufacturers on component and module specifications, data sheets, and test data, create trade tables to evaluate design options, and make recommendations for camera architecture decisions
Process and analyze image quality data to evaluate performance vs. product requirements, service provider specifications, and competitive benchmarks. Prepare reports of assessment.
Work closely with colleagues on camera engineering team to improve camera design, complete root-cause analysis of image quality issues, and drive new product development.
What you bring to the team
You have a BS/MS/PhD in Optical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related engineering field
You have a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience with 4 years of experience in camera engineering. Strong preference given to candidates with camera development experience.
You have experience specifying and evaluating CMOS sensors and ISPs.
You have strong knowledge of video image quality evaluation and tools. Candidates with experience in applying objective IQ testing to camera design and development are highly preferred.
Many of the external partners are located in Asia, so work schedule flexibility is needed to participate in evening meetings on a regular basis.
Candidates with an understanding of image signal processing are preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver on tight schedules, including close collaboration with global 3rd party partners, is essential.
Excellent communication skills are required. In particular, written reports, feedback and product specification documents.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team is important for this role.
