Limited time: $2,000 incentive, for continued employment with II-VI A&D, subject to the terms described.  

  • $500 paid at 30 days of service completed
  • $500 paid at 60 days of service completed
  • $1000 paid at 90 days of service completed

You must be employed on the dates specified to receive payment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for Program Management for multiple, new or ongoing efforts for Fiber Pump, Bar Stack, and Amplifier projects to ensure success on critical development programs. Leads cross-functional teams to complete projects and provide deliverables to contractual dates while maintaining or exceeding budgeted financial performance. Identifies necessary materials and resources, develops Statement of Work, project schedules, and collaborates with other managers and functional personnel to ensure success of assigned programs. May also be responsible for other, less complex programs or new product introductions, which have the potential for expanding II-VI A&D business.

Acts as the primary customer interface for all assigned program issues and support that includes working with key suppliers/vendors. If assigned to production/commercial type programs, leads the development and booking activities for potential follow-on or new contracts with assigned customers. May also be responsible for identifying, developing contacts and booking new business within current markets.

Education & Experience

  • MS/BS degree in Business, Operations Management or technical field such as Engineering. MBA preferred. Equivalent experience and certification may be substituted for education. PMP or PgMP desirable.
  • Minimum 10 – 15 years of experience in program management acting as the primary contact with full schedule and financial responsibility. Aerospace experience highly preferred.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills and business acumen. Must be able to judge situations with regard to the larger business picture as well as the immediate need. Must be able to structure internal and especially external communication accordingly.
  • Strong planning and leadership ability to coordinate and get tasks accomplished in through non direct reports. Ability, flexibility, versatility and comfort level for working with multiple individuals and personalities.
  • Ability to persuade and motivate others. Strong negotiation skills.
  • Thorough understanding of production and financial reporting/systems with regard to program/project management (budgeting, EAC’s, etc.).
  • Understanding of business strategies and ability to formulate/execute plans to support said strategies.
  • Advance skills using Microsoft Projects and other software packages tools required to effectively communicate with customers, vendors and internal communication/reporting.
  • Ability to train, coach and mentor other program managers.
  • Willing to travel, sometimes at short notice.
  • Ability to assume Program Management of ongoing development programs in Amplifier and Pump Development.
  • Ability to effectively assume the role or act as a back-up to the Manager of Program Management if required to do so.
