The Institute of Mechanical Engineering is soliciting applications for a faculty position at the level of tenure track Assistant Professor in Sustainable Manufacturing.
We seek applicants with research interests in the broad area of sustainable manufacturing (encompassing economical, societal and environmental aspects) to address engineering challenges related to the development towards intelligent and cognitive manufacturing systems that are able to make smart and informed decisions, autonomously, and in real-time. Since high-value-added manufacturing is an essential pillar of the Swiss economy, applicants should demonstrate a potential for direct interactions with industrial partners to pursue specific technological advances. Besides an outstanding research record, the candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
As a faculty member of the School of Engineering, the successful candidate will be expected to initiate an independent and creative research program and participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Internationally competitive salaries, start-up resources, and benefits are offered.
