Responsibilities

The Group Leader reports to the Electronics Division Leader in the Hardware Directorate and is responsible for leading a group of approximately a 20 engineers. This position requires the ability to apply sound engineering and management principles for technical hands-on leadership of an Electronics Design Group. Specific responsibilities include: a.) oversight of the quality of execution of projects in the Group; b.) development of the Group’s technical vision; and c.) development, growth, and maturation of the Group’s technical capabilities and engineering staff. The Group Leader also supports the Division Leader with staff assignments and staff career development. Technical responsibilities include leading in the conception, specification, analysis, design, simulation, fabrication and evaluation of electronics and systems for communications, sensor and space systems.

Qualifications

MSEE / Ph.D. or equivalent degree(s) and 5+ years of experience in both direct “hands-on” lab work in advanced technologies and effective leadership in both formal and informal roles. Demonstrated expertise in ASIC development & PWB development and CMOS devices, HDL design and test bench development is essential. Additionally, experience in hardware implmentations of machine learning, trusted electronics, digital photonics, and radiation hardened electronics is highly desireable. Exceptional candidates with a BS and 10+ years directly related experience will also be considered.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter, capable of achieving organizational and program objectives, and must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
