We are seeking a Staff Electrical engineer to join one of the leading optical components and module R&D teams in the world. You will have an opportunity to contribute to the design and testing of transceiver devices that are deployed in data centers, core optical transport, service provider, and wireless backhaul markets. You will design high performance transceiver modules utilized in transmission systems at 100Gb/sec to 400Gb/sec data rates. As the Staff Electrical Engineer you will work within a multi-disciplinary R&D team that designs Oclaro’s next-generation high volume optical transceiver modules (100Gb/s to 400Gb/s).


  • Design, implement, and verify component layout, circuit design and component selection for next generation of optical transceiver modules


  • Experienced in design of high performance broadband analog circuits for optical front end receivers and transmitters.
  • Generate electrical schematics including the RF-signal-path and control interfaces.
  • Experience in high-speed circuit design, layout and test.
  • Hands on knowledge of circuit theory, linear system theory, feedback, ICs, and high speed fundamentals are required.
  • Experience with electronics CAD tools and electronic system modeling.
  • Must be strong in problem solving with excellent communication skills to interact with engineering staff, external vendors and contractors.


  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Two to four years of work experience in relevant field
  • Experience with optical systems and familiarity with fiber optic transceivers are highly desired.
