To develop accurate photonic device compact models for use in circuit simulators.
Roles and Responsibilities:
GLOBALFOUNDRIES is seeking experienced scientists / engineers to develop photonic device compact models for use in industry standard circuit CAD applications. Familiarity with wave physics, optics, and CMOS device physics is required.
Experience with CMOS processing, design enablement, industry standard compact models such as BSIM or PSP, and Verilog-A language for model development is beneficial.
The responsibility for this position includes test site design and layout, test development and data analysis in MatLab environment for model parameter extraction, and Verilog model development and encoding. Device and/or circuit simulation using Cadence will need to be conducted to verify or improve model quality. Familiarity with standard electrical testing (DC and Scattering parameter) and optical device testing is very beneficial.
Experience in photonic device physics and design, as well as photonic circuit architecture will be helpful to continuously improve/adapt model application.
The applicant will be a member of an established RF development team and a growing photonics group. Demonstrated communication, adaptability, and team skills are required.
This position is customer facing.
- Master’s in Physics or Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of device compact modeling experience.
- Fluent in English
- PhD in Physics or Engineering
- Strong understanding of wave physics and mathematical ability are essential.
- Experience in design enablement
- Good communication and teamwork skills
