The College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona is seeking applicants for a post-doctoral research associate in the field of quantum information theory applied to quantum optical systems. The ideal candidate will be one who has experience that spans at least two of the following three topic areas: (1) continuous variable quantum optics, e.g., covariance matrix descriptions of Gaussian states and measurements, non-Gaussian operations, multi-mode analysis of linear and non-linear propagation of non-classical light, (2) quantum information theory and (3) the theory of quantum key distribution, e.g., security proofs of continuous-variable QKD protocols, finite-key-length analysis, and quantum repeaters. The candidate will work closely with a team of theorists and experimentalists, on problems in quantum enhanced photonic information processing with applications to quantum-secured communications. The initial contract period may be for two years, and may be renewable based on the availability of funds.
