This position supports the Advanced Technology Center (ATC), the advanced development arm of Lockheed Martin’s Space Systems Company. The Radio Frequency (RF) & Photonics department of the ATC is looking for talented microwave design engineers to expand our growing team. The selected individual will be responsible for design of terrestrial and space flight RF electronics. You will be working in a team environment and will be expected to work on conceptualization, preliminary design and prototyping, lab demonstrations, trade studies, schematic design, analysis of your own designs and others, board layout, support to production, anomaly resolution, support to test, and post delivery support and maintenance. You may be better at some of those, rather than others, but we are looking for people with the flexibility to adapt roles to the work needed. The team is centered in Sunnyvale, CA.
Understanding of microwave design fundamentals through relevant study or work experience.
Design of circuits including synthesizers, filters, modulators, mixers, amplifiers, and samplers.
Capture of design using tools. High level analysis and block diagram level microwave design. Experience with design capture in Altium
Detailed analysis of design using design tools.
Understanding of electronics manufacturing and design for manufacturability (DFM).
The ability to communicate your design choices to internal stake holders and customers through basic written communication and more formal presentations.
Experience with high level analysis in ADS or Microwave Office.
Experience with detailed design analysis tools such as SPICE, CST Microwave Study, and/or HFSS.
Leadership of small teams of engineers.
Several years of post masters experience doing microwave design and/or test.
Experience in the lab with microwave test equipment.
