Who We
Are:
Elenion
Technologies is driving innovation in silicon photonics, an emerging technology
poised to significantly increase performance and reduce costs of optical systems.
We are headquartered in New York City, with offices in San Jose, California and
Munich, Germany.
After pursuing a
path of intensely focused research and development for two years in
stealth-mode, Elenion recently unveiled itself to the world and has assembled a
world-class team of multi-disciplinary experts. Members of our leadership team
have built and sold several companies, published papers in the top scientific
journals in the world, raised hundreds of millions of dollars of venture
capital, and have built products and deployed them to the market. The technical team includes world leaders in our space, and many members are PhD
scientists and engineers from the top schools in the world, such as MIT,
Caltech, UChicago, and Columbia.
Elenion is developing
next-generation photonic integrated circuit technologies and solutions for a
broad range of datacom and telecom applications. It is almost certain that, as
you read this web page, the data traveling from the server to your computer or
phone went through hardware that someone on our team designed, built, or deployed.
This team builds
the hardware at the heart of the internet. We think that’s cool. Hopefully, you
do too.
The Position:
Our San Jose
facility currently has an opening for an experienced and highly motivated
reliability expert to lead the reliability characterization and qualification
of leading-edge electro-optic and RF integrated circuits, components, and
modules. This is a challenging role as it requires the ability to reach deep
understanding of several technologies, a solid test methodology background, and
organizational skills to manage several in-house and out-sourced efforts.
The reliability
team lead is expected to be the company expert on reliability in the design
phase, testing for reliability, and qualifying Elenion’s products to standards.
The incumbent will also direct both in-house and out-sourced testing, failure
analysis activities, and qualification, and provide mentorship and leadership
within this function. A key element of this role is the timely design and
implementation of experiments that provide early insight into reliability
issues during the initial phases of development. As designs progress, the
incumbent will transition into performing reliability testing on key processes
and components, and full qualification activities on a variety of products.
Our ideal
candidate has extensive knowledge of the various standards and methods associated
with this kind of work. As a reliability authority, he or she can clearly
explain why a given set of tests must be run, or can be excluded, and can trace
this back to both standards-based requirements and the fundamental physics and
materials issues within the devices. He or she must be able to manage multiple
ongoing projects, juggle resources among those projects, and communicate
priorities throughout the organization. Finally, our ideal candidate is
ambitious, self-directed and tenacious, and thrives in a fast-paced, fluid
environment characterized by changing conditions. Of particular importance to
us are the ability and desire to learn, and the drive to work very hard with
similarly motivated people.
Key
Responsibilities:
·
Develop Failure Mode Effects
Analyses (FMEA) for photonic ICs, RF ICs, and advanced packaging schemes.

in-house reliability testing, implementing quality measures that ensure test
effectiveness.
·
Manage the execution of
out-sourced (by contract manufacturer or test vendor) reliability, failure
analysis, and qualification activities.
·
