Job Description:
REPORTS TO TITLE: Board of Directors (BOD)

I. PURPOSE OF POSITION: Responsible for COMPANY?s overall business development with customers and the related service/operations activities in support of Company?s mission and strategy as a sales company, promoting optical devices and modules and microwave GaAs and GaN devices to major communications equipment makers. As one of the key external representatives of the company, COO meets with customers and business partners to strategically position COMPANY to achieve its goals within the target markets of North America.

The COO will manage overall the Department level aspects of customer account management, product marketing, and sales order operations departments in order to meet assigned budget goals. The COO provides strategy, leadership and motivation to their assigned Department heads and will strongly support the President & CEO in clearly communicating COMPANY?s business expansion vision to employees and customers. COO will ensure that related activities and goals are aligned with COMPANY/COMPANY Vision ?22? strategic directions (ie COMPANY?s five year plan).

REQUIREMENTS: Broad knowledge and experience of an advanced technical, business, marketing and sales discipline and knowledge which is not available in undergraduate school. Master’s degree in business and/or technical is preferable.

EXPERIENCE: 15 – 20 years in various functional departmental and executive level management roles for optical or communications-electronics devices/ICs or module/subsystem sales and manufacturing companies within the telecommunications industry. Specific industry and market knowledge regarding the North American networking equipment providers as well as the major telecom and wireless carriers.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Usual Office. Extensive travel to executive level management within key customers, suppliers and strategic partners. Periodic travel internationally, particularly locations for Company in Japan factories and HQ.
