Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Mcroelectronics Undergraduate Intern Researcher for an internship opportunity. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.

The qualified candidate will become part of the Microelectronics Technology Department in the Electronics and Photonics Laboratory in the Physical Sciences Laboratory.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Works with technical staff in the development and execution of experiments using semiconductor test equipment

Works with technical staff to design and fabricate custom electrical and/or mechanical hardware fixtures.

Characterizes microelectronic and nanoelectronic devices for space applications

Operates semiconductor process equipment in a cleanroom environment

Analyzes data collected during experiments and collaborate in authoring of reports for our customers.

Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.

Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and engineering tasks.

Training and mentorship will be provided.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry, electrical and computer engineering, or related program

Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

Experience working in a laboratory environment

Minimum GPA 3.0

Must be able to obtain a security clearance

US Citizenship required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

GPA 3.5 or higher

Active security clearance

Experience with semiconductor or microelectronics characterization

Experience with nanoelectronic device characterization, expecially carbon nanotubes

Experience using Matlab, Labview, Python and Microsoft Excel.

Experience in circuit board design and fabrication.

Experience working as part of a team on complex projects under tight schedules.

Participation in extracurricular activities related to engineering.

Experience in developing and delivering presentations
