Job Description
We are looking for a Semiconductor Laser Diode Product Engineer to join our talented cross-functional team and manage optoelectronic chip products used in fiber optical communication and consumer electronics applications. The Product Engineer will support high-volume production, as well as working closely with R&D team on production transition, and play a crucial role to support test and data mining related activities, in order to drive production ramp and post-ramp yield improvement and sustaining.
In this position you will:
Support daily production like solving issues in real-time, as well as becoming the first-line defend in leading the analysis of failures in production testing line.
Work closely with R&D team to support new product introduction as well as transition from NPI to high-volume production environment on optoelectronic devices such as VCSEL, DFB laser, etc.
Perform test sensitivity study to optimize testing capability and consistency for yield improvement activities. Coordinate correlation study on test parameters between Chip, optical sub-assembly and modules to enhance design for manufacturability.
Drive to ensure scalable test database structure to simplify data mining and correlation study activities.
Work closely with optical sub-assembly and module team to address testing/correlation issues at contract manufacturer and vendors that could be related to chip performance.
Requirements
3 years of experience in Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) related device design, process development and characterization is required.
MS degree in electrical engineering, material science, physics, or other relevant major. PhD degree is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience with process and characterization of optoelectronic device such as VCSEL, DFB laser, etc.
Strong statistical data analysis skills (JMP or Minitab etc.).
Familiarity with semiconductor wafer fab operations (Manufacturing Execution System, process & quality control, change management etc.) in a high-volume manufacturing environment is a plus.
Experience with optoelectronic device reliability testing and modeling is a plus.
Strong communication skills; adept at hosting effective meetings and facilitating actions and resolving conflicts.
Strong ability to drive actions and solutions through cross-functional teams.
