Lumentum is seeking a bright, motivated individual to contribute to the development of a variety of highly-innovative and market-leading high power single-mode and multi-mode semiconductor lasers for telecom, industrial and consumer applications.
Develop a variety of highly-innovative and market-leading high power single-mode and multi-mode semiconductor lasers for telecom, industrial and consumer applications
Key contributor in conception, planning, design and qualification phases of development projects
Design of epitaxial structures and wafer fab processes to achieve electro-optical performance that meet or exceed specification with production yields suitable for volume manufacturing
Photolithographic mask design and layout
Test and characterization of prototypes, data analysis, establishing correlation between structure and process parameters and device performance
Participating on cross-functional teams comprised of growth, process and assembly engineers
Key Requirements and Skills:
Master’s or PhD degree
3+ years of experience in optoelectronic device development
Detailed, hands-on knowledge in the following areas: optoelectronic device physics, theoretical modeling, epitaxial growth, III-V semiconductor processing and electro-optical device characterization
History of successful innovative projects in designing laser diodes or similar optoelectronic devices
Creativity, problem-solving, overcoming technical challenges by extending technical knowledge, developing new concepts and inventions
Good teamwork and effective communication skills
