Position Description :
The Senior Product Manager will play a leadership role in Invuity’s product innovation and product commercialization activities. This position will:

Work directly with customers to identify unmet clinical needs and establish the most relevant clinical requirements

Develop a comprehensive business plan to gain management team project approval

Partner with the development and manufacturing teams to create world class products that meet both the clinical and economic needs of the customer

Collaborate with downstream marketing to create impactful product launches based on strong clinical value propositions

Strategize with sales and marketing leadership to develop effective and targeted rollout programs that drive revenue growth

Drive future product strategy based on emerging clinical needs, corporate objectives, and industry trends

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Product Manager will serve as a champion for his/her products throughout the development and launch process and will have full ownership of the success of the product launch. This position will:

Maintain a strong clinical knowledge through close engagement with customers at conferences and surgical case observations

Maintain a strong knowledge of competitive or alternative products or therapies

Conduct customer evaluations to ensure early product designs meet customer requirements

Ensure that the final product meets all program objectives including clinical performance, customer economics and Invuity’s financial objectives

Drive company-wide preparedness for the product launch to ensure on-time, successful commercialization and adoption

Establish and maintain product forecasting based on expected surgical adoption

Develop effective product launch materials including procedure videos, sales tools and product training with supported marketing claims

Key Competencies:
Proven success in working with clinicians to identify unmet needs and transforming those needs into new product requirements

Successful history managing complex medical product launches

Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues across the organization

Demonstrated success taking products from concept to full commercialization

Ability to lead cross functional project teams to overcome challenges and meet product rollout schedules

Demonstrated success in training sales teams on complex medical device or surgical products

Ability to communicate effectively to customers, colleagues, industry partners and executive management

Engineering or science degree required with advanced degree (MBA, MSEng) preferred

6-8 years’ experience in medical or surgical devices with 2-3 years as product manager or marketing manager

Ability to travel 20-30% domestically and internationally

Ability to stand, walk, sit; use hands and fingers, to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear over 2/3 of the time.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds under 1/3 of the time.
