Edmund Optics is seeking a Drafter – Imaging Business Unit. The Drafter has CAD modeling background and has demonstrated skill in CAD modeling and print drafting. The Drafter takes part in product development, custom designs, and product maintenance. The Drafter is self-directed and can work independently.
Essential Functions:
- Model and Draft parts
- Generate Engineering Documents
- Develop new products for the catalog and customers.
- Assist in the evaluation and feasibility study of new designs.
- Revise existing designs for improvement and corrections.
- Review other designers work.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
Qualifications:

Required Skills & Abilities:
- Math Skills: Geometry, Arithmetic
- Read and understand assembly drawings, blue prints.
- Basic design skills.
- Intermediate/advanced computer skills.
- Proficiency with Solidworks.
- Basic understanding in optical specifications and measurements
- Ability to assist in training of new employees
Other Requirements:
- US Citizenship or permanent residence required
- Work overtime as required
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent; minimum of two (2) years related prior work experience.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to occasionally lifts, carries, or moves objects up to 50 pounds; ability to sit or stand for long periods of time; work in office and/or lab setting.
