POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a talented Optical System Engineer to join one of the leading optical components and module R&D teams in the world. You will have an opportunity to contribute to the design and testing of transceiver devices that are deployed in data centers, core optical transport, service provider, and wireless backhaul markets. You will design high performance transceiver modules utilized in transmission systems at 100Gb/sec to 400Gb/sec data rates. You will also work on current projects and products requiring Optical engineering expertise. As the Optical System Engineer you will work within a multi-disciplinary R&D team that designs Oclaro’s next-generation high volume optical transceiver modules (100Gb/s to 400Gb/s). This position will also be responsible for investigating new technologies in support of future transceiver designs.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Experimentally bring up and conceptually prove next generation 100G/400G transmission system. Perform optical link performance analysis including the impact of OSNR, CD, PMD, etc.
Validate the optical performance of new hardware including DSP, Driver, Amplifier, transmitter, receiver and next generation transceivers.
Cross-functionally collaborate with HW, FW and SW teams aimed at delivering high-quality products.
Job Requirements :Qualifications :
Minimum 8 years of experience in the photonics, semiconductor or related industry or PhD with graduate work in fiber optics and optical communications
Prior design and test experience with optical components and / or systems
Experience with fiber optics and optical communications
Experience with fiber optics devices and optical test equipment , experience with DSP is a plus
Good command of the English language (written and oral)
