SOX Compliance Analyst

 This position will be responsible for preparing SOX 404 planning and scoping and complete controls testing for delivery to 3rd party auditors.

 Experience working successfully in the manufacturing, capital equipment industry as well as in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

 Requires a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

 

Job Description – Essential Duties:

•Performs annual planning and scoping for SOX assessment. Prepares annual risk assessment.

•Prepares various checklists – entity level controls, fraud risk assessment, COSO 2013.

•Develops and/or updates risk-based SOX testing programs.

•Assess suitability of internal control design via review of process documentation.

•Manages daily operations in support of financial controls testing for SOX 404 compliance

•Coordinates semi-annual review of process documentation.

•Coordinates semi-annual access review of in scope systems.

•Coordinates annual internal controls walkthroughs.

•Conducts audit testing of key controls to validate internal control effectiveness.

•Assists IT with updating ITCG documentation in accordance with COBIT.

•Conducts audit testing of ITCGs.

•Helps manage the implementation of a Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) tool such as Workiva; support requirements gathering, task management, progress tracking, etc.

•Provides support for third-party audit

•Determines compliance with policies and procedures.

•Discusses SOX testing findings with finance and operations personnel.

•Assists control owners with the remediation of control failures.

•Identifies improper accounting, researches issues, and makes recommendations to improve policies or procedures accordingly.

•Designs and implements new policies or procedures accordingly – i.e spreadsheet management policy.

•Seeks, develops and presents ideas that enable business units to implement best practices

•Stays abreast of changes in regulations / requirements to ensure the organization’s timely compliance – i.e MRC’s, controls over IPE, standard reports testing.

•Draft SOX testing reports that summarize testing objectives, procedures performed, test findings, mutually agreed remediation plans and conclusions reached.

•Assists SOX 404 implementation in new significant locations.

•May develop and conduct SOX compliance training for employees

•During down periods may assist General Accounting or Financial Reporting as needed.

 

Minimum Requirements:

·         Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field or in a related area (SOX/Internal Controls).

·         Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. (SOX 404, PCAOB Auditing Standards, COSO 2013, COBIT).

·         Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable working with technology and information systems.

·         Experience working in the manufacturing, capital equipment industry.

·         Ability to work closely with others in a team environment and be able to establish positive working relationships.

·         A solid work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication abilities required.

·         US Citizenship is required.
