Santa Clara, CA
Join an extremely talented and multi-disciplinary team uniquely chartered with inventing and developing breakthrough electronic measurement technologies for Keysight Technologies (formerly the electronic test and measurement businesses of Agilent Technologies). As a member of Keysight Labs, the company’s central research organization, you’ll work with a team of world-class experts in fields ranging from photonics and microwaves to FPGA design and software engineering. You’ll see the results of your work in, for example, next-generation high-speed oscilloscopes, advanced 5G test solutions, or revolutionary new optical test instrumentation.

Team members are typically assigned to one of a handful of applied research projects in our research portfolio—each aimed at providing breakthrough measurement technologies for Keysight. The conceptual origins of these projects are often inventions of our own team and typically based on our understanding of the needs of our test and measurement customers. Our role in the central research laboratory is to develop and validate these technologies and, if they prove successful, to assist in their commercialization by Keysight’s businesses. A key step in this process is prototyping of the concept to reduce the risk and demonstrate the technology’s compelling attributes.

To support your work, the team has well-equipped laboratory space and the requisite SW tools. Keysight also employs a number of R&D support organizations that could be leveraged by the successful candidate, including PC design services, low-volume PCB fabrication, and machine shops. Our very collaborative culture means that expert help is often readily at hand.

As a member of our team, your expertise will be applied in a variety of ways and on a variety of projects. You’ll likely be asked to:

Work as part of a team to invent and prove out new measurement concepts with the potential to significantly impact Keysight’s businesses

Prototype these innovative concepts in actual hardware and software to prove feasibility

Work with Keysight’s businesses to transfer the technology into commercial products.

With your skills and experience and a position in Keysight Labs, you will play a leading role in bringing new test and measurement technologies from concept to commercial reality.

To foster innovation and efficient communication, this position requires close collaboration with other team members. Consequently, this job must be performed from our offices in Santa Clara, California.
