Job Description: EO Technologies Systems Engineer Intern to provide laser systems engineering in support of multiple programs. Responsibilities include developing laser system requirements, laser system performance analysis and modeling, and laser system Concept of Operations development in complex environments. Responsibilities also include knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Power, Thermal, and Beam Director/Beam Control subsystems in relation to a laser system. Required Skills: Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 Experience with mathematics and statistics, including multivariate calculus, linear algebra, probability and statistics Experience/coursework in laser phenomenology, laser design, and/or laser communications from either Physics or Electrical Engineering Department Knowledge with computer modeling and simulation Experience/knowledge with either MATLAB, C/C++, MathCad or other Analysis software package suite Demonstrated mathematical problem solving ability and data analysis experience Must be granted an interim Secret Security clearance PRIOR to starting Desired Skills: Scientific computing environments, models, and/or simulations such as the following: MATLAB, Simulink, and MathCAD Experience in Nonlinear Photonics, Fiber Optic System Design, High Energy Laser Systems Ability to understand tactics as described by military experts and to represent their employment (verbally, graphically, and in simulations) Knowledge in EO/IR Sensors, Active EO sources, Laser Propagation, Systems Engineering, and System of Systems Required Education: Currently pursuing a BS / BA degree from an accredited four-year university and entering as a college Senior OR pursuing a MS / MA / PhD by Fall 2017.
