Summary:

This is a unique opportunity to join the AEi team as a Senior/Principal Software Engineer. You will be contributing to the design and implementation of vision guided automation systems for capital equipment used in the manufacture of camera module assemblies for the automotive (ADAS systems), mobile, consumer and a variety of other camera markets. AEi’s modular platform machines execute precision multi-axis active optical alignment based on a portfolio of patented and patent- pending technologies which enable the production, assembly and test of camera modules. You will work with our talented team of software engineers to develop systems that use vision processing to guide the automation and as a quality metric of the final assembly Ideal candidate will develop, enhance, and sustain software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Validation and characterization of the products developed, including embedded solutions for vision and navigation, robotics components, and hardware
  • Collaboration with management and architects to convert software design into working, scalable, maintainable software
  • Assist with system integration, testing strategy and documentation
  • Conduct design and peer code review
  • Provide estimates for project planning
  • Collaborate with technical experts and team members, to solve technical problems
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot. Assist with QA functions as required.

Requirements:

  • 7+ yrs experience in industrial engineering software design /development of complex systems
  • Vision image processing experience a plus
  • Strong computer science background
  • Proficient developing multithreaded applications.
  • Proficient in C#/C++/C using Visual Studio
  • Proficient with Source Control usage
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology
  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems or robotics
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team
  • Solid English verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for learning and contributing to collective goals- motivated to excel
  • Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services is a plus
  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering required; MS preferred.
  • Up to10% travel, both domestic and international (includes long duration flights)
  • Physical requirements: full body physical and manual dexterity, standing for extended periods, kneeling, crouching, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Local candidates preferred
