Research Associate for the Nanotech West Lab and Institute for Materials Research at The Ohio State University. The Nanotech West Lab is a multi-user laboratory facility that supports research, development, education and innovation across the University. A range of technological domains are supported, including semiconductors, electronics, micro- and nano-systems, photonics, energy conversion and energy storage devices, sensors, , microelectromechanical systems ( MEMS ), as well as basic research on emergent materials, physics and chemistry. The Research Associate in this position will a) support laboratory development and operation across the spectrum of Nanotech West activities; b) support optoelectronic testing and characterization labs and programs; c) support and execute device design and fabrication operations; d) train users in the proper and safe operation of equipment; e) support innovation activities between OSU and non- OSU entities; and; f) analyze data and test results and prepare reports on such data. The position requires interactions with OSU and non- OSU personnel in support of collaborations and partnerships with industry and non- OSU academic institutions. This engineering position will handle industry-confidential and Export Controlled information. This job will entail time in a range of environments that include cleanroom and optical testing laboratories, chemical laboratories, as well as the materials innovation laboratory. The position may require limited travel. This position is designated as an Essential position in accordance with the Emergency Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17. Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Science field required; experience with semiconductor device fabrication and test; experience in electro-optical testing; knowledge of statistical process control.
