Job Description:
The Staff Optical Test Engineer of LN Modulators and Optical Components for fiber optics telecommunication applications designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment for all phases of product development and manufacturing. This engineer plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. This engineer is also responsible for setting the parameters and testing customer samples. Develop sophisticated test stations, which usually require developing of sizable LabView and TestStand programs and HW-SW integration, as well as supporting such stations in production.
In this position you will:
- Prepare test and diagnostic program
- Support production test remotely at contract manufacturing sites and troubleshooting HW issues
- Design new test procedures for new product development
- Develop test software for new product development and production
Requirements:
- Bachelors in related engineering disciplines with 5+ years of relevant work experience or Masters/Ph.D. in related engineering disciplines and 2+ years of relevant work experience
- 2+ year’s minimum experience of testing optical devices for optical communication
- 10% travel required
- Advanced level knowledge of the LN modulators for high bit rate optical communication application is a plus
- Knowledge of Six Sigma or statistical analysis is a plus
- Strong trouble shooting skills on HW and optical component test is required
- LabView and Test Stand Certification is a plus
- Ability to lead and contribute in multiple projects as an individual contributor
- Team player with strong communication skills; able to effectively work with engineers of other groups -production and RD engineers
